*** Herb's Outlasts Stew's

It was a hard fought, close battle between Herb's and Stewarts oon Tuesday night.  Herbs jumped out to an early lead in the 2nd inning scoring 4 runs.  The rally was ended by a beautiful catch in deep left field by Eliana The Flying Dutcher.  Unfazed by the deficit, Stewarts chipped away and tied the game at 4 in the 5th inning.  Top 4, Tyreke The Comet Cornett truned a strike out into a base runner, with a heads-up dropped 3rd strike.  Two batters later, Ben The Cannon Zyskowski wore one for the team, to give Nickie Shades DiCesare an at-bat with ducks on the pond.  A clutch hit by Nickie Shades scored 2 and in the top of the 5th, Stewarts struck again, with Mad Dog Tucker singling home 2 runs to tie the game.  Drew Double Down Witchley flashed leather, making an inning ending catch and preserving the 4-4 tie.  Colossal Casey Clausen got Herb's going with a lead-off walk in the bottom of the 5th and a ground ball by Lucas The Splendid Splinter Clausen moved her into scoring position.  Jackson The Say Hey Caye supplied the huge hit that gave Herbs the go ahead run.  Cullen Shoeless Sheridan delivered a 1-2-3 top 6 and Herbs was moving on.  Tony The Creation of Devastation had a great outing, going 4.1 innings on 65 pitches, striking out 13, with no walks.  The Cannon Zyskowskit went 4 innings and struck out 6.
